Hi, Olya!
Please join me in welcoming my friend Alexandra Untu to the Network. Alexandra is a graduate student at the University of Bucharest about to graduate in June. Alexandra has had some experience in archaeology in Romania and will be joining me at Bethsaida this summer. I thought introducing the two of you might be mutually beneficial at some future date.

Hello, Olya! I thought you might be interested in knowing about the dacologika-tm Yahoo group, which posts all the latest findings in Romanian archaeology (that is, if you don't already know about it). I've been meaning to tell you about it for some time, but i've been over my head with work. Anyway, you can catch up on all its past postings, some of which are absolutely fascinating. I am assuming that you either read Romanian yourself or have someone on your team who does. If not, I will be happy to translate in summary the ones of most interest to you or relevant to your project. Of course, you would also be able to post news from your own project in English. Finally and relatedly, a young Romanian grad student who i've mentored over the years, Vladimir Agrigoroiae, is one of the founding directors of an interesting web project called (in English) The Romanian Group for an Alternative History, available at http://www.patzinakia.ro , with corresponding blog at http://patzinakia.blogspot.com. Interesting stuff with lots of wry humor. Enjoy!

Welcome to the network, Olya. I am particularly pleased to see the Romanian project. Most of my relatives live in Transylvania near Sebes and Alba Iulia. I also have professional ties with the University of Bucharest and a few close contacts with Romanian archaeologists and anthropologists in Bucharest; so I will be interested in following the progress there.

Hello Olya,

Welcome to the network. I visited your website about Archaeotek and the 3 summer projects. They sound very interesting. Are you involved in any of these projects?
