About Me:
I am an amateur archaeologist who wants to join a dig or two anywhere in the world. I live in the US and I love all sorts of aspects of ancient history, especially W. Mediterranean and of course Babylonian. I look forward to participating here.....

hey, thanks for the comments! I do like that about archaeology, that the facts in the ground can be observed without the spin contemporary writer would put on things, but a lot of people would say our own biases skew our interpretation in favour of explanations that more closely match our experiences.
I mostly work in the south west of England, and in London, and generally the stuff I work with is what I think would be called Historic Archaeology in the US, usually later than AD1500. But I have worked in some neat prehistoric sites. contemporary with later phases of Stonehenge, and quite close by too.
I can't answer your question about the electrical cord jack. Sorry! You'll probably have to contact them about that, or ask someone who has experience with those campgrounds..........
Hey, Prof. Law, perhaps my most recent comment to you was a bit hasty. I finally realized that your connection must be in the UK, and specifically Wiltshire. I love the dates, because for so many it is hard to fathom that the UK was habited by industrious, if not civilized, people c. 2500 BC. You must be aware of the most recent ongoing work at Stonehenge with the 'blue' stones, which they think were brought from other places, where I can't remember. Anyway, sorry I'm still trying to get the hang of this site.
Hey!
I did, but on Dan's comment wall

"The photo is of Silbury Hill in Wiltshire, UK. It's a 40 metre tall man-made chalk mound of Late Neolithic date (the radiocarbon date on an antler fragment from a secure context inside the mound puts its construction somewhere around 2490-2340 BC). Wiltshire is full of amazing prehistoric alterations to the landscape - the stone circles at Avebury are only about 5 kms away, and Stonehenge is not much farther than that, plus there are numerous smaller barrows, but I like that Silbury is such an enigmatic giant."
