About Me:
From Chicago. Have a BA in Anthropology (a couple credits away from a second!) and a Minor in Southeast Asian Studies. In my studies I focused on Archaeology and Human Osteology. Whilst studying, I lived a year in Thailand gathering ethnoarchaeological research, which involved traveling all over Thailand, Cambodia, parts of Myanmar, and China. Since graduating in 2007 I have participated and/or ran field work in the Dutch West Indies; Berlin, Germany; and Mesoamerica.
I am currently living in Berlin and earning my MA in Historical Archaeology through the University of Leicester. This field season I will be working on the Magdeburg Dom in Magdeburg, Germany.
Interests: Bioarchaeology, Forensic Archaeology/Anthropology, any area with bones really, Ethnoarchaeology, and Standing Building Archaeology (Maya temples to DDR living quarters!).

I look forward to meeting and working with you. I now have the full programme. Apparently we shall be working at Eisleben and Haldensleben and staying at the Campus KG Tower. I have done a translation list of skeleton parts in case we need them.
Any clues to what the weather will be like?
Thanks a lot. Lokking forward to meeting you.

Hi Glenn, thanks for your message. We have been away for the week end to Ilfracombe in Devon and so did not seen my emails until this am. The placement at Magdeberg is through the European Union's Leonardo da Vinci project for archaeology. In Germany the hosts are the Landesamt fur Archaeologie Sachsen Anhalt. The dig has just been changed from the cathedral to Medieval Defence systems with no further details. When I get them I shall let you know. I am searching the Leicester University library but at the moment i cannot find much. I sahll probably have talk to someone in the European history dept as the archaeology school has no experience in this. Thank a lot and best wishes. We must get together if you are in Berlin in July.

Hi Glee, Thanks for your information. Unfortunately the price is way out of my budget - €1021,00! but I have found another dictionary which is multi-lingual *dictionnaire polyglotte de termes d'art et archaeologie" whic has four lauguages - english, french german and italian. Abebooks wanted €132 but amazon france had it for €32 so I bought it. The University of Leicester Library has two copies on the shelves but at the price I thought I should buy. Again many thanks for your help.
Cheers
Gerald.

Hi Glenn, In the summer I am going to Magdeburg for a six weeks placement excavating the Medieval Defence Systems. I wonder if you could advise me of any books to read (in English preferably) and if you know of any English German Dictionaries of Archaeology or even just a German Dictionary of Archaeology. Many thanks. Regards Gerald
