About Me:
I am a senior human resources specialist by profession but I am also an avocational archaeologist and I have participated in a number of excavations and archaeology-related activities over the years, including an excavation season at the site of Bethsaida in Israel and many hours of volunteer work at George Washington's Mount Vernon estate in Virginia. I studied anthropology and archaeology during my undergraduate years at Brigham Young University. I administer an information blog about archaeology, focusing on archaeological excavation opportunities and job openings. I am excited to be a part of this network.

The Kansas Historical Society (KSHS) has an opening for an archeologist to carry out cultural resources management work. Field School/Internship Opportunity Announcement

The Department of Anthropology, University of North Dakota, invites students to attend its Archaeological Field School in May and June, 2009. The 6-week course is being offered in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service, the National Park Service, and the USDI Bureau of Reclamation. Well despite the driving rain there was a good turn out of willing diggers and yes we are certain we have the bases of two big kilns. So now we have confirmed this we are now going for funding to excavate the site properly in September 2010.

Thanks for the welcome. I am just off to dig a lost 18th century Scottish pottery brrrr.. its a cold Scottish morning but its the only time of the year the farmer has no crop in his field.

Dan,
I work at the Hudson Meng Education and Research Center in Crawford NE. Hudson Meng is an Alberta Culture find in association with Bison antiquus remains. Dr. Larry Agenbroad was the first researcher from 1971-1977. Currently, we are having a free weekend here the weekend of July 18. We are under the direction and management of the US Forest Service and the Supervisor's Office in Chadron NE is where the Forest Archaeologist has her office. I was hoping you would let everyone on the site know of our free weekend, and we also have primitive skills workshops every Saturday afternoon. This coming Saturday, flintknapper Larry Waldron of Chadron NE will be demonstrating at our information booth at Chadron's Fur Trade Days. Thanks for reading. I have enjoyed being a member here the past year. Interesting and intellectually stimulating at the same time.

Like others have posted, I don't mind things being sold on the website, but I would prefer that items were advertised in a forum made for that purpose, rather than being spammed by personal messages like the one that "Jose" sent out.
