i understand the snow freak-out. i lived in williamsburg, VA for a few years and a slight dusting of snow was enough to cause mass chaos. that is odd though since i see DC gets snow frequently enough.
there was an actual news report the other day where clinton complained the media was too soft on o'bama. they cited reports criticizing her teary-eyed moments, cleavage, and other nonsense you could expect. i can only imagine that the political coverage in your hub can only be worse.
nj is diminishing in greatness by the day, but the recent weather events have made for some laughter at those who commute or drive only a few blocks to their classes. i have been avoiding the department, partly it doesn't offer anything and that i was stuck teaching expos. blumenschine is on sabbatical this semester.
are you still working on kenyan material? with our wonderful news programs, i don't hear about the violence anymore, which simply means clinton's blouse was unbuttoned or something like that.

P.S.: I've read some material about the history and results of past investigations at Olorgesaillie -- a very rich and significant site, indeed.

Yes, I am the founder. What an incredibly fascinating picture.......thanks for the explanation. Looking forward to any new discoveries or insights that you can share with us in the future! And thanks, I would be interested in any future volunteer opportunities..........
Hey Briana...just wanted to introduce myself...I'm finishing up undergrad at RU and have done a little work on taphonomy thanks to Rob Blumenschine. I spent the summer at the Smithsonian in the archaeobiology lab doing some research with Mindy Zeder and I can't tell you how many times here at Rutgers I've been asked, "Oh, have you met/talked to Briana Pobiner?" when I mention those two things together. I'm most interested (for now) in initial domestication of livestock (and "domestication" in general, I guess) in the Near East, and taphonomy in that region/time. Anyway I guess you were prob. in the field this summer or at NMNH (I spent most of my time at the MSC). Thought it was about time to say hi!
quite a bit of rutgers represented on here. being here so long, it is hard to believe so many are actually following this field. how's life in D.C.?

Hi Briana,
Great having you aboard with ArchaeologyNet. I have always had a great interest in human origins and would like to participate as a volunteer some day on a related project or excavation. Seems to be a boom in Zooarchaeology-related types on our site right now! Just curious -- what is the context of your profile photo?
