A business network for archaeologists

I am extremely interested in archaeology and would like to get started, has anybody got any advise, I am happy to travel anywhere in the world for any length of time and find all aspects of archaeology fascinating!

I would suggest that you begin by searching for volunteer opportunities with local academic institutions (if there are any) and professional Archaeologists. In the USA, each state has a Historic Preservation officer or office or something like that...I dunno about the UK but I'm assuming that there is some parallel office that you would be able to contact and possibly get a list of qualified Archaeologists.

Following on from what ShadyGroveAG suggests, there is a list of local archaeological and historical societies at archaeology.co.uk. Why not see if there is anything close to you in the list and get in touch to find out what is happening locally. Then of course you can get yourself a trowel and dig in!
